I had a lot of dreams last night, but this one was the most interesting. Thinking about it gives me goosebumps.
The dream began with a storm. A storm that shipwrecked me and washed me ashore a beautiful beach. This beach however wasn’t uninhabited. In fact, it looked very much like a resort. My guess is that it existed somewhere between life and death. Limbo.
As I walked into the main lobby of the resort, I was greeted by a man who used to be my butler (it made perfect sense thanks to dream logic). He told me that in this resort, I was to be his butler…more like a caretaker if you will. Immediately my clothes were replaced by that of a butler. I quietly accepted and told him that I’d walk along the beach to get familiar with the place. He agreed.
As I made my way down to the beach again, it occurred to me that I would actually have to memorize what this beach looks like from now on…it was part of my job. I looked at other people walking around, having a good time.
Just then, the sand beneath my feet was replaced by a pier. And right next to the pier stood the Tokyo Tower. Dream logic told me that the Tokyo Tower had been gifted to this beach (it never occurred to me in the dream as to whether this beach was landlocked or on an island). It was night time by now.
And then I saw her.
I looked at the Tokyo Tower again and then I looked at her. Every time I looked away from the tower, it would change slightly and start resembling a rocket.
I called out to her. She was happy to see me and started walking towards me.
I looked at the tower and it looked exactly like a rocket now. Much like the rocket in Tintin, Destination Moon. Apparently some kind of launch sequence had been initiated.
I ran towards her and told her that the Tokyo Tower was on this beach. She didn’t believe me.So I grabbed her hand and we rushed towards the tower, just in time to see it launch.
It was really beautiful. The Tokyo Tower rocket soared higher and higher into the night sky.
But as I looked back at the launch site, the tower was still there. And it looked like a tower now, instead of a rocket. The whole rocket thing was just an illusion apparently. All smoke and mirrors.
We held hands and kept staring at the tower.
