There’re a few dreams that I have on a recurring basis:
- Staircase dreams: This dream may not be as common as the other ones but sometimes I dream about racing down the steps of my old building in Indore. Always racing down in leaps and bounds, never racing up. Sometimes, the steps are never ending, sometimes my building is falling apart, sometime I’m racing down with a gun shooting people 0_o….you get the idea.
- Elevator dreams: A very common theme in many of my dreams. Once again, its almost always the elevator in my old building in Indore. That place is more a part of me than I realize
. Can’t blame it really coz I spent 16 years of my life there. Anyway, usually my elevator dreams are pretty scary, because the elevator NEVER goes to the floor I want it to. In some dreams it’ll keep plummeting to basement floors like B16,B17 (my building doesn’t have a basement). In some dreams the floors are all jumbled up. In some…it refuses to stop on the 7th floor (the floor I live on) no matter what I do. In some dreams, it just keeps on going up. And then there’re the permutations and combinations. In any case, elevator dreams always induce a state of panic.
- Examination dreams: Examination dreams are a proof of the detrimental effects that the Indian education system has had on my subconscious. Not only are they the most common type of dreams I have, but they’re also the most horrifying. These dreams are rather diverse in their range of cruelty. In some of them, I’ve forgotten to give a whole bunch of exams, in some I study for the wrong exam, in some I study for an exam but forget everything once I open the exam paper, in some I fail a whole bunch of exams at the same time. Just goes to show how big a geek I used to be in school
